MEMPERINGATI DETIK SEJARAH KEMERDEKAAN MALAYSIA
	Pilihan raya umum yang pertama ditandingkan pada tahun 1955. Parti-parti seperti PAS, Parti Negara di bawah pimpinan Dato' Onn bin Jaafar, Parti Buruh, Parti Progresif Perak, Parti Perikatan UMNO-MCA-MIC dan sebagainya bertanding dalam pilihan raya umum tersebut.Parti Perikatan UMNO-MCA-MIC memenangi 51 kerusi daripada 52 kerusi yang dipertandingkan. 1 kerusi lagi dimenangi oleh PAS. Dengan kemenangan dalam pilihan raya, kabinet kerajaan telah dibentuk. Tunku Abdul Rahman menjadi Ketua Menteri yang pertama. Pada tahun 1956, Tunku Abdul Rahman mengetuai suatu rombongan ke London untuk membincangkan perkara-perkara mengenai kemerdekaan. Rundingan ini mengambil masa tiga minggu di London. Perjanjian London 1956 ditandatangani pada 8 Februari 1956 yang menyatakan persetujuan memberi kemerdekaan kepada Tanah Melayu. Sekembali ke Tanah Melayu, Tunku Abdul Rahman mengumumkan tarikh kemerdekaan di Melaka. Pada tahun 1956, suatu Suruhanjaya Perlembagaan Komanwel ditubuhkan untuk menggubal perlembagaan. Suruhanjaya Perlembagaan Komanwel atau lebih dikenali sebagai Suruhanjaya Reid yang dipengerusi oleh Lord Reid dari Britian terdiri daripada pakar-pakar undang dari negara Komanwel. Laporan yang dikeluarkan oleh Suruhanjaya Reid dipinda oleh Jawatankuasa Kerja dan diluluskan oleh Majlis Undangan Persekutuan. Bendera Union Jack iaitu bendera British diturunkan di hadapan Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Kuala Lumpur pada tepat pukul 12 malam 31 Ogos 1957. Kemudian, Perdana Menteri Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, Tunku Abdul Rahman mengisytiharkan kemerdekaan di Stadium Merdeka. Jemaah Menteri diumumkan juga pada hari pengisytiharan kemerdekaan. Pengistiharan Kemerdekaan Apabila tarikh Kemerdekaan telah ditentukan, Tunku telah mengarah Jabatan Kerja Raya untuk membina sebuah stadium terbuka yang akan dijadikan tempat pengistiharan Kemerdekaan. Tunku memilih sendiri lokasinya, di sebuah bukit yang rendah berdekatan Jalan Birch dan stadium itu dinamakan 'Stadium Merdeka'. Stadium Merdeka 5.00 pagi, 31 Ogos 1957, hujan turun dengan lebatnya. Dato' Abdul Razak yang melawat Stadium pada pagi itu gelisah dengan takungan air di tengah-tengah padang di mana Askar Melayu akan mengadakan perbarisan kehormat. Dato' Razak adalah Timbalan Pengerusi, Jawatankuasa Persiapan Kemerdekaan dengan Tunku sendiri adalah Pengerusinya. 7.00 pagi, hujan mulai reda. Dato' Razak menalifon Tunku dan melaporkan keadaan di stadium. Beliau mencadangkan agar ketibaan Raja-raja Melayu, Duke serta isteri dan Pesuruhjaya Tinggi dilewatkan satu jam. 9.00 pagi, langit mulai cerah, rintik-rintik hujan semakin mengecil dan hilang dari pandangan. Perabut dan perhiasan mula dibawa keluar dengan kadar segera. Tunku telah bersiap sedia di rumahnya. Berbaju Melayu hitam, berkain samping, berselitkan keris bersarong gading dipinggang serta bertengkolok songket, Tunku menantikan saat untuk bertolak. Di Stadium Merdeka, Tunku berdiri gagah menerima ketibaan Duke of Gloucester yang memakai pakaian istiadat ketenteraan British berpangkat Field Marshall. 'God Save The Queen' berkumandang ketika Duke of Gloucester yang merupakan pakcik Queen Elizabeth II masuk dan mengambil tempat. Duke telah diiringi oleh Pesuruhjaya Tinggi British, Sir Donald MacGillivray. Raja-raja Melayu pula duduk dipayungi oleh sembilan payung kuning, Yang DiPertuan Agong pula duduk di tengah-tengah, di kirinya Tunku dan di kanannya Duke. Duke kemudiannya menyerah 'Instrumen Kemerdekaan' yang mana merupakan suatu pengakuan British bahawa ia menyerahkan kedaulatan Pulau Pinang dan Melaka kepada negara baru ini dan seterusnya menarik balik 'perlindungan' yang diberikan kepada negeri-negeri Melayu. Tunku kemudiannya membacakan pengistiharan Kemerdekaan yang antara lainnya menyebut "Dengan nama Allah, Persekutuan Tanah  Melayu untuk selamanya sebuah negara yang demokratik dan Merdeka". Acapkali suaranya tenggelam dan pekikan Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! oleh rakyat sebuah negara baru yang lahir dari suatu perjuangan yang suci. Seorang anak bangsa yang menyaksikan segalanya di depan mata, menghuraikan pengalamannya, Hujan renyai-renyai menghiasi pagi. Tanpa disedari linangan air mata membasahi pipi. Stadium Merdeka dibanjiri oleh anak-anak bangsa yang datang dari setiap pelusuk negeri. Masing-masing hadir dengan harapan yang tinggi. Menjadi saksi, satu peristiwa yang penuh bererti, yang tidak akan dilupai tersemat disanubari sampai mati. Merdeka telah kita miliki 'Merdeka! Merdeka! Perang Dunia I berlarutan antara 28 Julai 1914 hingga 11 November 1918 dan bermula di Balkan.
Pada 28 Jun 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand dari Austria-Hungary bersama isterinya terbunuh di Sarajevo, Bosnia. Bosnia merupakan kawasan Austria yang dituntuti oleh Serbia, sebuah negara Balka yang kecil di mana pembunuhan tersebut telah dirancang. Dengan sokongan negara Jerman, Austria-Hungary memutuskan menghukum Serbia.
Austria-Hungary menyerang Serbia pada 28 Julai 1914. Rusia membuat penyediaan untuk menyokong Serbia dan diserang oleh Jerman. Negara Perancis pula menyokong Rusia dan Jerman juga menyerangnya. Untuk sampai di Paris dengan secepat mungkin, tentera Jerman menyerang Belgium, sebuah negara yang berkecuali. Britain kemudian menyerang Jerman.
Pada permulaannya, negara Jerman memenangi peperangan itu akan tetapi negara Perancis, Britain dan Rusia terus bertempur. Jerman, Austria-Hungary dan sekutunya digelarkan "Kuasa-kuasa Pusat" manakala negara-negara yang menentangi mereka digelarkan "Tentera Bersekutu". Sewaktu peperangan berlanjutan, negara-negara lain bercampur tangan. Hampir kesemuanya memihak dengan Tentera Bersekutu. Pada tahun 1915, Itali menyertai Tentera Bersekutu kerana ingin menguasai tanah Austria. Dan pada tahun 1917, Amerika Syarikat memasuki peperangan memihak Tentera Bersekutu.

Sekitar kemusnahan serta pertempuran yang berlaku semasa Perang Dunia I.

Sungguhpun Tentera Bersekutu amat kuat, negara Jerman kelihatan hampir-hampir memenangi peperangan itu. Selepas 1914, negara Jerman menguasai Luxemborg, kebanyakan Belgium, serta sebahagian daripada Perancis utara. Negara Jerman juga menang di Barisan Timur ketika usaha Rusia tergagal. Akan tetapi menjelang 1918, tentera Jerman telah mengalami keletihan. Bekalannya tidak mencukupi dan terdapatnya pergolakan sosial di dalam negara sendiri. Pada waktu yang sama, semakin ramai tentera Amerika Syarikat baru tiba untuk mengukuhkan Tentera Bersekutu. Pada musim panas 1918, tentera Amerika Syarikat membantu menentangi serangan Jerman yang terakhir di barat. Negara Jerman menurunkan tandatangan perjanjian gencatan senjata pada 11 November.
Di bawah Perjanjian Versailles yang ditandatangani selepas Perang Dunia I, negara Jerman menyerahkan tanah-tanah jajahan dan sebahagian daripada wilayah Eropahnya. Poland diasaskan semula dan menerima Posen {sekarang digelar Poznani), sebahagian Silesia serta sebahagian Prussia Barat. Alsace dan bahagian Lorraine yang dikuasai oleh Jerman dipulangkan kepada negara Perancis. Negara Perancis juga dapat menguasai kawasan Saar selama 15 tahun. Perjanjian ini juga meletakkan Rhineland di bawah pendudukan Tentera Bersekutu selama 15 tahun. Bilangan tentera Jerman dikecilkan tidak melebihi 100,000 askar serta dilarang mempunyai tentara udara. Jerman juga perlu membayar Tentera Bersekutu pampasan perang yang sungguh besar.
Dianggarkan terdapat 8.6 juta mangsa peperangan ketika Perang Dunia I. Pihak Bersekutu kehilangan 5.1 juta orang sementara Kuasa-kuasa Pusat 3.5 juta. Peperangan tersebut mengakibatkan kemusnahan besar kepada negara-negara yang terlibat dan dikenali sebagai "peperangan untuk mengakhiri semua peperangan" sehinggalah Perang Dunia II berlaku.

Perang Dunia I berlaku disebabkan oleh faktor politik dan ekonomi. Antara faktor politik termasuklah kemunculan nasionalisme dan sistem pakatan negara-negara Eropah, iaitu Perikatan Kuasa Tengah dan Pakatan Bertiga. Faktor ekonomi pula melibatkan persaingan kuasa-kuasa besar merebut peluang ekonomi.
Pada penghujung abad ke-19, negara-negara kecil di Eropah telah bersatu dan membentuk sebuah bangsa yang lebih besar, contohnya Jerman dan Itali. Kedua-dua negara ini menyertai kuasa besar Eropah yang lain seperti Britain, Perancis, Austria-Hungary dan Rusia dalam usaha mendapatkan tanah jajahan. Nasionalisme yang kuat menyebabkan kuasa-kuasa besar ini sanggup berperang bagi membuktikan kekuasaan masing-masing. Weird sudden weather changes. If you kill yourself, the time stays at 12:00. * Cheats were not officially released by Rockstar Games. They were discovered by edisoncarter from GTA Forums by wiring the PS2 controller up to the PC's parallel port and trying numerous combinations at high speed. Needless to say, this is not recommended for people to try at home, since it also requires special software to make this work. Quests through the source code of the game also reveal various hidden button codes for special cheats, yet the button combinations are up to the point of writing unknown. Perhaps we shall find out the combinations in the future, but for now these cheats can only be triggered with cheat devices. Due to the way the game's cheat codes are programmed (32-bit), it was discovered that every cheat had a huge number of different button combinations that triggered it. So far the list of codes ending with L1 has been extracted, and the estimated number of working combinations is over 200,000.
